    Software issue / disabled device

    Update your device

When you see the option to Restore or Update, choose Update.

Your computer will try to reinstall the software without erasing your data.

Wait while your computer downloads the software for your device.

If the update fails, you’ll have to restore your device.

Note: If the download takes more than 15 minutes and your device exits the recovery mode screen, let the download finish, then repeat step 2.

    Forgotten passcode

You have to restore your device

    ⚠️ WARNING ⚠️

    Your data will be removed!

If you have your data backed up to the same computer or iCloud, you can re-download your data

When you see the option to Restore or Update, choose Restore.

Your computer will restore your device to as new.

Wait while your computer downloads the software for your device.

Note: If the download takes more than 15 minutes and your device exits the recovery mode screen, let the download finish, then repeat step 2.

    Once your device is restored...

During setup, it will only allow you to enter the password for the Apple ID originally setup to the phone.

This is for security and an anti-theft measure.

Once passed this stage it will allow you to setup a new passcode.

Note: If you do not know your Apple ID details, you may have to speak to Apple with proof of ownership so that they may be able to do this for you.
